Alex Silver is an American fine art photographer based in Brooklyn. Working in black and white and color, he creates atmospheric, intimately composed images that explore the human form, nature, architecture, and emotion. His portraiture often examines the divine feminine archetype through elegance, vulnerability, and empowerment.
Alex studied photography and Imaging at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he developed his approach to fine art photography and visual storytelling. His work has since been exhibited internationally, with presentations in New York, Paris, London, Miami, Rome, Milan, Athens, Geneva, and Glasgow.
Known for minimal, emotionally resonant images, Silver works in black and white and color to create photographs rooted in sensitivity, elegance, grace, and empowerment. He seeks to build bridges of empathy between subject and viewer, drawing out quiet emotion through natural light, composed stillness, and an attentiveness to presence and memory. Silver’s photographs reshape perspective, inviting viewers into moments reimagined through grace, sensitivity, and empathy. His work invites viewers to see anew, blurring the line between observation and feeling
His portraits are noted for their sensitivity and clarity, often exploring themes of presence, memory and the divine feminine. Working primarily with medium format and digital processes, Silver favors natural light, restrained compositions and a slow deliberate approach. His images invite stillness, offering viewers space for reflection. Across series, his work moves between intimacy and structure, body and space, gesture and silence.
Silver works primarily in fine art portraiture and abstract black and white images. His portraits emphasize strength & elegance, while his abstract photographs reduced reconstruct form and light to new creations. Across both, his images aim for emotional depth & perspective.
